I've been watching a lot of videos recently on the Civil Rights Lawyer YouTube channel. It's a less sensationalized version of Cops Gone Wild. It is absolutely astonishing to see just what kind of "public servants," all of them armed and dangerous, the taxpayers are footing the bill for.
Just in recent days, there was a roided out cop tearing a grandmother out of her car and throwing her roughly to the ground. Her "crime?" Driving fast in an effort to rush her three year old grandchild to the hospital. This police officer, like virtually all of them, was instantly aggressive, barking orders like a stereotypical drill sergeant, and never paused when she told him the situation. There have been other cases over the years of our beloved "public servants" stopping people who were rushing to the hospital. Citizens have died because these out of control tyrants couldn't recognize a medical emergency. More importantly, they didn't care. In one case, a then NFL player was detained while his mother in law died without him being able to say goodbye to her. So, sometimes even an athlete's status doesn't help.
In another case, a Black guy was checking his mail when a police car rolled up, and started questioning him. He pointed across the street and told them, "they called you." A normal person would have said, "thank you," and gone to that house. But not this guy. He became belligerent and confrontational. Which is the tactic every police officer uses in these very illuminating videos. They are never reasonable. They bark orders, and they expect the citizens who pay their salaries to obey them without question. At any rate, the cop ended up tasering this Black guy. Now, like almost all the Black non-suspects we see in these videos, he was combative and called the cop out on his behavior. Police don't like that. The many Whites they harass and abuse aren't as quick to defend themselves. They think of the cops as the "good guys."
In another recent video, a White guy in West Virginia was stopped for having no inspection sticker. This is a serious crime in America 2.0, the kind that called for four police officers to arrive at the scene. These bullies always call for "backup," even if they're throwing an elderly invalid out of a wheelchair. "Officer safety" and all that. No one seems to care about citizen safety. The Civil Rights Lawyer showed, as he often does, just how thoroughly these cops lie in their reports. In this case, the cop claimed the guy "refused" to get out of the car, when all he did was very reasonably ask him, "what crime am I suspected of?" They hate when you do that. Police think they have the right to order you to do anything, and if you even hesitate, they begin yelling, and at best will throw you to the ground. At worst, they will shoot you.
That guy in West Virginia was charged with two counts of drug possession, even though the substances they found (after violating his Fourth Amendment rights by searching his car) were proven to be legal. And yet, they still charged him. Well, I guess that's better than just planting the drugs in his car, which cops have been caught on tape doing many times. It's a police state thing, you wouldn't understand. It takes a special breed to be able to frame someone like that, and live with it on your conscience. In other cases, these "public servants" have been caught on tape threatening to make up charges on "uncooperative" citizens (in other words, citizens who know their rights under the Constitution).
In yet another startling video, a high school girl was stopped by a cop after pulling into a gas station. Her "crime?" Going 37 in a 30 mph zone. Wow- very scary stuff. The video showed the young girl to be understandably nervous, fumbling while trying to find her license and registration. The cop quickly lost patience, as they often do. Our brave hero pulled her from the car and body slammed her to the pavement. Her father showed up and acted far more reasonably than I would have if it was my daughter being assaulted like that. This bold officer was actually going to take this poor, frightened kid to jail. The charges in that case were subsequently dropped. The lawless bullies with badges in these cases almost always continue on in their positions, free to abuse other unsuspecting citizens.
In another case, an older guy riding his bicycle at some fair was stopped for unclear reasons by several officers. Now, these were bicycle officers, but they showed the same fighting spirit as regular patrol officers. They "suspected" this poor soul of being intoxicated. As might be predicted, they got physical with this harmless old guy, and slammed his head into the concrete. After spending a year in the hospital with severe brain injuries, he died. So they murdered someone who, at worst, might have had too much to drink before he got on his bicycle. Another elderly bicyclist, who'd been hit by a truck, was thrown onto the concrete as well by another courageous "public servant," and he would die as well. There are no adequate words here.
While all the cases I've described, with the exception of the guy checking his mail, involved police abuse of White citizens, they do indeed still harass Black citizens, even in the wake of the George Floyd riots. There was an instance where a thirteen year old Black boy was thrown around and handcuffed for selling roses outside a Walmart. And, of course, they needed plenty of "backup" to subdue this dangerous criminal. So this is most definitely not a racial issue, as the usual suspects in media and government would have us believe. The police aren't targeting Blacks, they are harassing everybody. Well, except for any Bloods, or Crips, or Hell's Angels, or real life Goodfellas. Anyone that might fight back. They prefer to concentrate on the elderly, handicapped, skinny skateboarder, drunk young girls type. They prey on the weak.
What is missing is any video of any cop anywhere, using excessive force on someone who is obviously dangerous. A real gang member, for instance. But instead, most cops would pee their pants if a Blood, a Crip, or a Hell's Angel said "boo" to them. Like all bullies, they are cowards. If they weren't armed, they would undoubtedly have their asses kicked on a regular basis by some of the citizens they harass. No, they prefer to deal with the most vulnerable in our society, and turn them into "suspects." One brave officer, a few years back, had to tase a naked eleven year old autistic girl who was walking along the road. I'm sure he called for "backup," too. Or the deaf guy the big, tough cop shot in the back for jaywalking. The guy, naturally, didn't hear the orders being barked out. You must obey their orders. And he, too, required "backup."
In the wake of the BLM protests, you'd think the police would have reformed their ways. But these recent videos show that nothing has changed. Conservatives are still so worshipful of these goons with badges, that they have decided to make the death of George Floyd a hill to die on. Really? Sure, he had a criminal record, and was high on drugs, but that video of the officer with his knee on Floyd's neck, for far longer than it needed to be, is very damning. Floyd was handcuffed and no threat. But these cops are "threatened" by naked eleven year old autistic girls. And that's all they have to say. They were "threatened." They thought he was reaching for a gun. So they shot him five hundred times. Cops are also really, really bad shots by the way. And their orders are to shoot to kill, not to stop. Much of what they learn comes from training in Israel.
I am told often that "most cops are good people." Maybe they are. I've known some good ones. But the ones we see in action in these inexcusable incidents, are all bad. And there doesn't appear to be a single "good cop" in a position of authority, because their superiors virtually always conclude that the violent bully cop "acted reasonably." So they clearly aren't trying to weed out any "bad apples," because they are all bad apples. Judging by all the video documentation out there, these "good cops" should want to clean house. Maybe stop hiring psychopaths and bullies. Hold them accountable for their actions. Stop treating the public, that pays your salary, like criminals who just haven't been caught yet. If any non-badge wearing citizen did any of the things I've detailed above, they'd be serving a long prison sentence.
Police don't need to be "defunded." They need to be overhauled and reformed. Policing for profit needs to be ended immediately. Asset forfeiture is an essential part of that, and it allows these occupying forces to confiscate the property of American citizens, including cars and even homes, without any due process. All they have to do is claim that the property is, however loosely, associated with a "crime" investigation. So if your sixteen year old son sells a bag of pot to his friend, under your roof, the police can take your home. And they have done just that, far too many times. Donald Trump, by the way, is one of the biggest cheerleaders for asset forfeiture. And he absolutely adores these militarized thugs with badges.
I have complained often about the conservatives' continuing love affair with law enforcement. Think about what the term implies; they are enforcing laws which are mostly unconstitutional. Do you have to be beaten and unjustly imprisoned yourself to recognize just how bad our police forces are? I would think that January 6 should have drummed home the point that the cops are not on our side. Look how they behaved during the BLM riots, which were in protest of them. They didn't slam people to the pavement. They stood down. In some cases, they knelt down next to the protesters. I think in at least one case, they washed the feet of some Black protesters. A very different approach than they use on elderly bicyclists, for instance.
I also try to tell conservatives that these police officers are under no obligation to "protect" the public. Look it up- that's what the Supreme Court ruled. And yet, these people still stand behind them. Just like "support the troops." Well, these militarized officers are troops. Troops who are unconstitutionally occupying this country. Troops that are essentially a Praetorian Guard for our corrupt state. They aren't there to protect you. They are there to protect the corrupt tyrants who are destroying this country. They are paid by you, however. And those police chiefs who always rule that their vile officers have acted "appropriately," wind up being paid a very lucrative pension by you as well. And no one is threatening to take those particular "entitlements" away. Just the Social Security and Medicate payments you contributed.
Police corruption is one of the primary reasons why I now sympathize with the anarchist perspective. Exactly what purpose do these armed and dangerous thugs serve? How often have they stopped any real crime from happening? How often have they even found the right perpetrator? Remember when the D.C. snipers had to call the FBI hotline, to alert the authorities to a note they'd tacked on a tree at one of the crime scenes? The police didn't notice it. Real life "law enforcement" isn't like those CSI shows, which glamorize police. They are mostly incompetent. And too often vicious in their "enforcement" of laws. They are far more likely to abuse than assist. I'm not sure if they're even capable of getting cats out of trees any more. They are good at shooting dogs, however. And innocent bystanders.
If you can't tell by now, I have a very low opinion of the police. This isn't because I'm a criminal, or ever been a troublemaker. I don't look for trouble. I've always been a man of peace. But I still dread seeing them behind me on the road. I flinch up. I don't want them stopping me for any reason. Any stop by police holds the potential for trouble, even death. So make sure your unnecessary stickers are in place. Make sure your unnecessary registration is in your glove compartment. As they will remind you, driving is a privilege, not a right. A privilege granted by the corrupt state. And even though you've purchased this vehicle, we'll keep taxing you on it. And making you keep registering it and getting it inspected. If one of our brave officers suspects you are associated with a crime, we'll confiscate it and sell it at an auction. Buckle up!
In the days of yore, long before I was born, there were peace officers. Who walked a beat. Who got to know the neighbors, and were there, as the name implied, to keep the peace. Not "enforce" the law. Policing for profit hadn't been born yet. No out of shape bullies were hiding behind bushes, shoveling down doughnuts, in the hope of catching a non-threatening citizen not coming to a complete stop, or even making a diabolical illegal u-turn. Asset forfeiture was just a twinkle in Ronald Reagan's eye. SWAT teams hadn't been created, to the delight of "small government" conservatives. By the way, half the time, these "elite" SWAT teams bust into the wrong house. And sometimes kill the occupants. But very few question the existence of SWAT teams. Only a few more complain about asset forfeiture. Where are the peace officers?
The "Woke" Left only opposes police on the untrue grounds that they are "racist," and are purposefully focusing on Blacks. "Profiling" them. So if the suspect is Black, as they undeniably are in a disproportionate number of cases, your kept media simply leaves the race of the suspect out of all news reports. Again, it's about "officer safety," never about public safety. And because they've twisted the reality that police officers of all races, all over the country, are out of control and harassing citizens of all races, into the Hollywoodish fantasy that they are only harassing Blacks, many Blacks with long criminal records are simply being released now without bail. Unlike the nonviolent January 6 political prisoners. Back the blue, conservatives!
Police set the tone for our massively corrupt injustice system. The process begins with them making an arrest, and as countless videos have shown, this is often done dishonestly. Even with body cam footage exposing their lies, most of these offending officers are defended by their corrupt superiors. Without their often unreasonable arrests, and single-minded focus on their initial suspect in more important investigations, there could be no prosecution, from ambitious prosecutors anxious for a "victory." And no hopelessly biased judge, presiding over a politicized courtroom. And finally, no mindless jury, that manages to be wrong virtually all the time. Rubber stamping life sentences when there is far more than reasonable doubt, but also allowing cretins with credible evidence stacked against them, to remain free.
This is not a local problem. Every police force is corrupted by the policing for profit agenda. They all employ bullies and psychopaths, and give them guns. The gun grabbers don't seem concerned about that. If there's any group that has shown themselves to be irresponsible in the use of firearms, it would be police officers. No, they just want to disarm the average citizen. Police, and our equally reckless military are just fine. Give them bigger and better weapons. They're putting their lives on the line for you. Well, not according to the Supreme Court. Still, we must "let the police do their job," the conservatives say. Look at the videos on YouTube. There are plenty more at Audit the Audit, and other places. They are "doing their job." And that job is to harass the public, and crush any possible dissent in this country.
