The election of July 4 was a watershed moment.

For the first time significant space opened up on the two flanks of British politics.

Reform may only have won five seats, but they garnered 14.3% of the vote, prompting some to speculate we may be just a couple of elections away from the kind of results already seen in Italy and the first round of France's parliamentary elections.

Robert Wright doesn't think much of the foreign policy direction of the new Labour government in Britain:

[Labour shadow foreign secretary] Lammy depicts his foreign policy vision as new, but it's pretty much the same vision that has long guided his party and comparable western parties, including the Democratic Party in America. And this vision is, in critical respects, not very different from the neoconservatism that has dominated Republican foreign policy for most of the past few decades.

Starmer's actions while CPS chief would, at a distance, seem to be the exact same as what you would expect the CIA to take if they were given the Assange dossier themselves.

It's hard to completely fathom what happened in the UK with the general elections which installed Sir Keir Starmer, a lawyer by training, into Downing Street. Certainly, two key aspects of July 4^th were critical though.

The real momentum lies behind Reform.

Labour has won the general election and will hold a significant majority of around 170 seats.

Its leader (and next prime minister) Sir Keir Starmer says he has "earnt the mandate" because the electorate saw "that we can serve their interest."

This is total nonsense.

No matter how many times Starmer repeats the lie that this election "could only be won by a changed Labour Party"-it will still be a lie.
