An Ominous Confession

Trump never apologizes - but he tried hard to last night, when he said the following on his Truth Social platform:

"Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. A relatively small section of the whole has been hit. The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen."

Italics added.

"Out of anger" ? Isn't it the Iranians who have the right to be angry ? Trump apologizes for the Israelis' anger - over being hit back after they hit first.

Oy vey!

It continues:

"Unfortunately, Iran did not know this, or any of the pertinent facts pertaining to the South Pars attack, and unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a portion of Qatar's LNG Gas facility."

Pinhead says what?

He admits the attack was ill-advised and kind-of, sort-of apologizes for it and then says the Iranians "unjustifiably and unfairly" attacked the LNG gas facility in Qatar ! This is like the guy caught beating his wife who moans about how she made him do it - and she'd better not do it again.

"NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar - In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before. I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar's LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

More italics added. Further explanation hardly necessary.

The interesting thing about this isn't just the almost-apology. It is the confession that Iran is hurting Trump enough to get him to cough up that almost-apology. Trump seems to be admitting that he finally understands his war on behalf of Israel isn't going well and that if it goes on much longer, it could cost him everything that matters to him - that being his legacy, how he is regarded by history. Instead of a Teddy Roosevelt-like figure, something like a Lyndon Johnson/Richard Nixon figure, loathed and reviled for generations to come.

He knows - as Mr. Spock said in that episode of the old sci-fi show in which Kirk figured out how to make gunpowder to kill the Gorn - that Americans are already screaming mad about the consequences so far of this stupid, evil war. The cost of gasoline is already almost $1 higher per gallon than it was only two weeks ago - which is how long this stupid, evil war has been going on. It feels like it has been going on much longer than that. It is going to feel much worse than that in another couple of weeks, if a gallon of gas is up $2 more gallon. Never mind the cost of diesel - upon which the cost of food and pretty much everything else depends.

He knows that if this goes on much longer, there may be an actual revolt. Desperate people resort to desperate measures. Adding gasoline to this potential conflagration is the shocking betrayal. It would have been just as bad - in terms of its repercussions - if a President Harris had started this war on behalf of the national socialists - they are styled Zionists in our time - who run the state of Israel, who demand living room and consider themselves a special people above all other people.

But the rage swells that all of this is happening at the behest of the man the people voted into office because they believed him when he said no more stupid, evil wars in the Middle East. It is the same kind of anger that wells up when you discover someone you trusted has royally screwed you over.

Trump knows we know.

Now he is trying to get us to believe again. That will be the hardest sale he's ever had to make and it is doubtful he can make it, having placed himself in a now-intractable position. He cannot just declare victory and end the war with Iran not having been "obliterated." It would leave him looking ridiculous and it would leave the Zionists furious. Trump is beholden to these Zionists. He'll betray us but never them.

That is why the last portion of his apology-confession is so alarming.

"In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before."

It sounds as if someone's getting desperate. Someone who might just push the button, if he thinks it's the only way to score the "win" - and not go down in history as a loser.
