The jokes regarding the "I" in "CIA" are familiar and predictable. The middle letter in the initialism might stand for imbecility, ignorance, or incompetence - essentially anything other than "intelligence." Because its résumé of war crimes, international terror, and election skullduggery rivals the length of The Bible, most critics of the CIA - and American foreign policy, in general - justifiably focus on moral turpitude.
