The Donald posted a rather long diatribe on his Truth Social, a social platform that rarely dispenses truth. Let's break it down.
Iran, which is now suffering a severe defeat, apologized and surrendered to its Middle Eastern neighbors and promised not to fire in their direction anymore. This promise was made only because of the relentless attacks by the US and Israel. They wanted to conquer and control the Middle East.
Iran did not "apologize" for destroying US bases in West Asia, most notably the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. President Masoud Pezeshkian said "Iran's interim leadership council has approved that neighboring countries will no longer be attacked unless an attack on Iran originates from them." This is an odd apology.
"Who gave you the authority to drag our region into a war with Iran ? And on what basis did you make this dangerous decision?" the Emirati billionaire Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor asked Trump in an open letter.
This is rather naive. Is it possible Al Habtoor does not know the answer ? Israel and the United States do not need "authority" to mass murder innocent civilians. For instance, the bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, where more than 175 girls were slaughtered. "We are fighting the epstein class that either rapes little girls or bombs little girls," Dr. Foad Izadi of the University of Tehran told Al Jazeera.
John Bolton, the former (unconfirmed) ambassador to the United Nations under George Bush the Lesser, and fired as advisor by Trump in his first term, insists the United States does not target civilians. This is categorically untrue. Since 9/11, according to research by Airwars, airstrikes conducted by the United States have killed between 22,000 and 48,000 civilians. Another study estimates "that U.S. military forces were directly responsible for about 10 to 15 million deaths during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and the two Iraq Wars."
The American public probably is not aware of these numbers and knows even less about the proxy wars for which the United States is also responsible. In the latter wars there were between nine and 14 million deaths in Afghanistan, Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, East Timor, Guatemala, Indonesia, Pakistan and Sudan.
Iran is no longer the "bully of the Middle East" - now they are the "defeated of the Middle East" and will remain so for many decades until they surrender or, more likely, completely disintegrate.
Israel is in fact the bully of the Middle East. "The Israeli strategy of provoking a desired war is not new," writes Ted Snider. Beginning in 1948, the Zionist state provoked a number of wars, including the Arab-Israeli War, the Suez Crisis (with Britain and France), the Six-Day War, the War of Attrition, the Yom Kippur War, the 1982 Lebanon War (including the South Lebanon conflict), the Israel-Hezbollah War, the 2024 invasion of Lebanon (Operation Northern Arrows), the invasion of Syria (Operation Arrow of Bashan), the Twelve-Day War (Operation Rising Lion), and sparked a number of Intifadas in response to Zionist provocations and attacks.
"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation," declares the Koenig Memorandum, a confidential and internal Israeli government document authored in April 1976 by Yisrael Koenig. "Our aim is to smash Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, and Syria," the Israeli General Staff said in 1948.
Oded Yinon, formerly attached to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, published a document in 1982 that "reflects high-level thinking in the Israeli military and intelligence establishment," writes Ralph Schoenman. Yinon explained that "the Arab nation is a fragile shell waiting to be shattered into multiple fragments... Every kind of inter-Arab confrontation will assist us in the short run and will shorten the way to the more important aim of breaking up Iraq into denominations as in Syria and in Lebanon."
Forget the Abraham Accords. Saudi Arabia was also considered a target. "The entire Arabian peninsula is a natural candidate for dissolution due to internal and external pressures, and the matter is inevitable, especially in Saudi Arabia."
In 1996, a policy document was prepared by the former United States Assistant Secretary of Defense, Richard Perle. " A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm," commonly known simply as the "Clean Break." It was presented to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Instead of making a "comprehensive peace" with its Arab neighbors, the document called for Israel to "contain, destabilize, and roll-back" Syria and Lebanon, while increasing pressure on the Palestinians.
"We Jews, we are the destroyers and will remain the destroyers," exclaimed Maurice Samuel in his 1924 book, You Gentiles. "Nothing you can do will meet our demands and needs. We will forever destroy [in violation of international law] because we want a world of our own." In 1956, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, in an interview with General Ouze Merham, said:
"I don't know something called International Principles... I wanted to encourage my soldiers by raping Arabic girls as the Palestinian women (sic) is a slave for Jews, and we do whatever we want to her and nobody tells us what we shall do but we tell others what they shall do."
Trump again:
Today Iran will receive a very strong blow ! Within the framework of total destruction and serious consideration of certain deaths, due to Iran's bad behavior, territories and groups of people that were not previously targeted are now considered targets.
Here Trump promises to kill more Iranians "due to Iran's bad behavior," that is to say Iran responding to a surprise attack by Israel and the United States during negotiations. "We were in the middle of talks with the US and the Americans assured us that Israel would not attack us without their permission. But they suddenly attacked us, and torpedoed our diplomacy," said Iranian President Pezeshkian.
"Trump's presidency has massively empowered the psychopaths among us," warns Thom Hartmann.
The last time this happened in a major western nation was 1933, when Adolf Hitler - another high-functioning psychopath - took over leadership of Germany. For a republic, having a psychopath at the top of leadership is extraordinarily dangerous and usually leads to the psychopath so corrupting the political process that democracy is badly damaged or even destroyed and replaced with oligarchy or fascism.
The political process in the United States is firmly on a trajectory leading to economic and social self-destruction, but not before it destroys others at the behest of an ethnosupremacist settler colony in Palestine contemptuous of international law and morality.
The insanity of war will continue. Only 54% of Americans "disapprove" of the unprovoked attack on Iran by the United States and Israel. Meanwhile, nearly half of polled Americans believe Iran is a threat to US national security, despite the fact the Trump administration has yet to provide an explanation for its aggressive behavior, including the unconscionable "double-tap" murder of more than 175 school children. Instead, it offers up lies, half-truths, and dissimulation.
