In his excellent book, As We Go Marching, the great conservative observer John T. Flynn analyzed the "good fascism" of Franklyn Roosevelt's New Deal, comparing and contrasting it with the "bad fascism" of Hitler and Mussolini:

The test is - how many of the essential principles of fascism do you accept and to what extent are you prepared to apply those fascist ideas to American social and economic life ? When you can put your finger on the men or the groups that urge for America the debt-supported state, the autarkical corporative state, the state bent on the socialization of investment and the bureaucratic government of industry and society, the establishment of the institution of militarism as the great glamorous public-works project of the nation and the institution of imperialism under which it proposes to regulate and rule the world and, along with this, proposes to alter the forms of our government to approach as closely as possible the unrestrained, absolute government - then you will know you have located the authentic fascist.

Last Wednesday all the signs were pointing to a desperate action by the Trump administration to launch a ground operation inside Iran ostensibly to seize enriched nuclear material from an Iranian nuclear research facility. The report from the Wall Street Journal noted that US special ops forces were once again being deployed to the region to carry out a raid on a Hardened Deeply Buried Target (aka HDBT).

American aggression against Iran has not only failed to truly degrade Tehran's capabilities (key missile bases and stockpiles remain largely intact after months of fighting), but also exposed how fragile US power becomes when rhetoric about "limitless capacity" finally collides with industrial and political reality. It seems no power in the political West (including the US) has learned anything from the NATO-orchestrated Ukrainian conflict.

Americans are destroying Flock cameras in illegal acts of protest. As a headline from tech publication Gizmodo eloquently phrased it, "Flock cameras have a people-love-smashing-them problem."

Resistance to the Flock surveillance camera system has been building up since last year. In Suffolk, Virginia, 13 cameras were destroyed from April to October of 2025.
